About Us

My name is Casey Anne and my mom, Janna, and I started Green Gables Yarn Shop to fulfill a dream that my mom first started over a decade ago.

My mom first taught me to crochet when I was 15 and I fell in love. Since then the two of us have shared a passion for yarn and the crafts we can do with it.

When JoAnn Fabrics announced they would be closing, and knowing that my area didn't have a local yarn shop, we decided to act. Though she is not currently living in West Virginia she is my partner in so many ways. When we first started planning we knew we wanted to make not only a place to buy yarn, but a community space. We wanted to make people feel welcome and have a place to gather and craft together. We wanted a place to teach and share what we know as well as learn from others. In that spirit, and having grown up reading about Anne Shirley (my middle-namesake), Green Gables Yarn Shop was born.

We are a young yarn shop, and still learning, but we are striving to become a place where crafters can truly find and become Kindred Spirits.
